"Legendary Maienfeld" - a scenic guided tour of the town

In Maienfeld, you’ll experience a truly special guided tour. Here, actors bring to life the history of Maienfeld from the past, allowing you to dive deep into the old home of the famous Heidi.

The tour starts at 10:00 AM at the Alten Werkhof parking lot in Maienfeld. Here begins an extraordinary city tour. During the tour, actors will show you what life was like in historic Maienfeld. You have the chance to explore the old home of the famous Heidi and immerse yourself in life from back then.

After the tour, you can enjoy a glass of delicious Maienfeld wine at a Torkel. The tour concludes at 11:30 AM.

In Maienfeld, you’ll also find the Heidi Village. The Heidi Village, as the original location for the film adaptation of the Heidi story, remains unchanged. This is where author Johanna Spyri found her inspiration. The furnishings date back to 1880. In the town hall stable, you can find goats just like those that accompanied Heidi daily with the goatherd Peter. You'll also see horses and carriages here. Next to the Heidi House, there’s also Heidi’s Alpine hut and the town hall with the village school. The village shop and the post office have also been preserved.
