Description
Embark on an adventurous rafting tour through the Rhine Gorge. Navigate the Rhine surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and high rocky towers, and optionally enjoy a hearty barbecue.
In Ilanz, you will be picked up for your tour. After a short walk to the base, you will meet your guide. Once you receive all important information and your gear, you will head to the launching point. There, your guide will introduce you to the essential procedures, safety measures, and paddle instructions.
The rafting tour takes you through the breathtaking Rhine Gorge and its tall rocky towers. Along the way, you will encounter rapid currents. In the heart of the gorge, in Versam, a delicious barbecue awaits you by the riverside if you booked it.
Your tour concludes with a small aperitif in Reichenau, where your luggage is also waiting for you.
Practical information:
- In case of illness, consult a doctor in advance
- Bring swimwear, a towel, and a small daypack
- Depending on weather conditions, heat-insulating sports underwear is recommended
- Good swimming skills are expected, no rafting experience necessary
- Self-catering instead of a barbecue gathering is also possible
Swiss Activities Tip
The Vorderrhein is a popular area for hiking. From Reichenau, you can walk over the 100-m-long suspension bridge Punt Ruinalta to the Bonaduzerwald forest. The 27 km trail back to Ilanz is also worth the effort and can be combined with the Rhine Gorge bus.
