In the stately Haus zum Torkel in Oberdorf, you can find a varied local-history collection linked to the attractive village of Berneck, the largest wine-growing municipality in the canton of St. Gallen. Objects from viticulture and fruit growing, agriculture, cooperage, pottery and grandma’s times bear witness to the historical past. The collection also includes a fully functional rope-making workshop, which can even be demonstrated elsewhere. In the adjoining Torkel building, used for receptions, weddings and apéros, a splendid Torkelbaum from 1682 takes centre stage..
