Zeitgeist on the gateway arch

Luzern station as it stands today opened in 1991, after the old building had been destroyed by a major fire exactly 20 years earlier (1971). The main portal of the old station, which survived the fire, now stands as an imposing arch in the middle of Bahnhofplatz. At the top of the arch is a statue by the Swiss sculptor Richard Kissling. Its name: "Zeitgeist".
