With temporary exhibitions, events and workshops, the museum operates at the interface of design, art and society, and explores design in all its facets – from the artistic object to the everyday utility item. In its historic, atmospheric building, it offers surprising, unusual and sensory insights into current questions and contemporary phenomena, and presents topics of cultural-historical relevance. At the same time, the permanently installed «Material-Labor» invites you to discover the world of materials: wood, paper, metal, plastic, stone or ceramics, textiles, pigments and dyes.
