Acting as both artist and model, she explores identity and the body as a performative event in which social expectations, visibility, and invisibility intersect. Mirja Busch: Just a Fraction of the Rain Wherever she goes, Mirja Busch hopes for bad weather. Because rain brings puddles. And she’s been exploring them for 15 years. The Berlin resident by choice experiments with various forms of archiving. Whether as a photographic collection, in liquid form, through ethnographic observations, or via language—she brings the often-overlooked phenomenon of the “puddle” into sharp focus, thereby opening up new perspectives. Roland Hotz: Singing Bones / Layers of Stone and Stories “Geschichtungen” An attempt at an explanation: feldspar, quartz, and mica—stones—these unruly materials come to life. And: myths, legends, stories. Archetypal storytelling. That is my message. Sometimes it works better. Sometimes less so. Is that art? Poetry in stone? Perhaps!
