"Farbklänge" - Color Tones
About this place
4th “Farbklänge” Exhibition at the Archive | 5hunzker Art Space, Ziegelrain 18, Aarau Each year, the Archive presents a newly curated selection from the artistic legacy of the Hunziker family. The collection brings together works by the Aarau painters Hermann Hunziker (1840–1910), Gerold Hunziker (1894–1980), Werner Hunziker (1894–1975), and the contemporary artists Dominique Hunziker (*1944) and Nicolas Hunziker (*1974). Its particular appeal lies in the dialogue between four generations of artists. This year’s exhibition focuses on Dominique Hunziker’s abstract acrylic paintings created from 2012 to the present. Delicate yet vibrant compositions condense colour, rhythm, and movement into powerful visual statements. Presented alongside selected works by Gerold and Werner Hunziker, they create a compelling encounter between tradition and contemporary experimentation. Music once again forms a special highlight of the opening event. The young Aargau pianist Sophie Holma will perform the world premieres of Dominique Hunziker’s compositions Mouvement and Rouge–Noir–Clair, alongside works by Claude Debussy. Together, sound and image create a rich dialogue that echoes the spirit of Farbklänge.
