About this place
Built in the first half of the 13th century and abandoned shortly after 1250. The island was inhabited by hermits in the 17th/18th centuries, with St Joseph’s Chapel built in 1684. The castle was excavated and conserved in 1959/60. Restaurant on the island, accessible by boat. (Source: Burgenverein.ch)
