About this place

Located in the imposing Rumine Palace – built between 1898 and 1906 to the plans of Gaspard André – alongside various museums and the Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire, the Musée cantonal d’archéologie displays various objects from excavations carried out in the canton of Vaud. In particular, rich collections dating from the Neolithic, the Age of bronze, the Age of iron and the Roman era. You can also admire a remarkable series of objects from the necropolises of the Early Middle Ages, as well as medieval and historical collections.
