About this place

The museum displays archaeological finds from the canton of Thurgau from the Neolithic to the modern era. The main focuses of the exhibition include finds from wetland settlements of the Neolithic, the Bronze Age and the Roman period. Highlights include the gold cup from Eschenz (c. 2400 BC), the pan flute, wooden combs, wine barrels, brushes and statues. You can study the working methods and techniques of archaeology on the third floor of the museum. In the vaulted cellar, the museum presents the «Anderswelten» on the theme of death and cult.
