SP Summer Walk - Encounter at Winkeln Mosque
Dates
About this place
The planned new mosque in St. Fiden has attracted a lot of attention in St. Gallen. Participants visit the religious community in Winkeln on site, learn about its activities, projects and work with children and young people, and get an insight into the building project. Afterwards, there is space for questions and open exchange. It also explores living together, participation and religious life in the city. With city councillors Tatiana Cardoso, Christoph Kobel and Peter Olibet. This event is part of a series of seven summer walks. They all focus on stories from a diverse city of St. Gallen. All dates are listed in this calendar or can be seen under this link. There are still many prejudices against people with migration experiences. This event series aims to set other perspectives against them: perspectives that show how diverse the city is and how people with different stories and experiences shape and create St. Gallen together. The walks create space for encounters, exchange and new perspectives. The key is to talk with each other rather than about each other — about experiences, challenges and a supportive way of living together in the city.
