Zingelstöckli via ferrata, Urnerboden

Difficulty K4-K5 The via ferrata is classified as moderate to difficult and is around 300 metres long. In wet conditions, it is strongly advised not to attempt the route. Starting point/access. After the scenic drive over the Klausen Pass, you reach Urnerboden (1372 m a.s.l.). Free parking spaces are available by the church. A hiking trail behind the former Gasthaus Tell takes you to the start of the via ferrata in about 30 minutes. Equipped with a via ferrata set and helmet (which you can also hire from the village shop), you head up to Zingelstöckli. The via ferrata is demanding and not suitable for beginners. An emergency exit is located about halfway along the route. Once you reach Alp Zingel, you are rewarded with a splendid view. You can then make the descent back to Urnerboden on the marked hiking trail.
