About this place
The entrance room of the 1681 guild room is dedicated to the guilds of Stein am Rhein. Various video portraits of selected people and animated films give you an insight into guild life in the 18th century. Mayor and chronicler Johann Georg Winz (1699-1759) brings the history of both guilds to life for us. The Herrenstube and the Kaufleutestube were the central meeting places in Stein am Rhein. Here people socialised, business deals were initiated and politics were conducted.
