About this place
The circular Bourbaki Panorama was painted in 1881 by Edouard Castres in Geneva. It shows the internment of the French Bourbaki Army at the end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871. After disarmament, the 87'000 soldiers were housed in 188 Swiss municipalities and were provided with food, care and medical treatment by the civilian population, the Red Cross and the Swiss Army.
