open art museum
About this place
The open art museum is a centre of competence for Swiss naive art and Art Brut. The aim of the foundation behind it is to promote interest in the various areas of Outsider Art. In the space between Art Brut and naive art, the exhibitions and collection bring together works from artistic border areas. Freed from academicism and the regular art world, their creators develop their inner visual worlds, visions and cosmologies. Almost all artists of Art Brut, Outsider Art and naive art are self-taught. With surprising certainty, they put ideas, feelings and longings on paper, shaping and building worlds from the most varied materials. A non-conformist and individual art full of life and stories, which captivates through its diversity, exceptional content and inventiveness. The museum stages special exhibitions and also shows changing groups of works from the foundation’s collection.
