About this place

The place probably once served hunter groups as a meeting point during the summer half-year for seasonal hunting. However, the name came from the travelling people, from gypsies and tinkers, who used the cave as a place to stay. The cave, with an area of just under 200 m2 together with the adjoining woodland plot and the meadow in front of it, was placed under state protection in 1902 and can now be visited freely.
