Verfolgt von den Franzosen zogen Suworows Truppen bei Schneefall südwärts nach Elm. Die einfache Wanderung führt bis nach Schwanden der Linth entlang und gelangt anschliessend teils oberhalb, teils dem Sernf entlang über Engi und Matt nach Elm.
