Description
The cable car runs from Miglieglia to Monte Lema. It runs every 30 min between April and the beginning of November, and every 60 min in bad weather. When the number of passengers is high, the cable car runs continuously. It consists of three coupled cabins and thus brings 45 people to the summit in just seven minutes.
- Bottom station: Miglieglia (717 m above sea level)
- Top station: Monte Lema (1566 m a.s.l.)
So take your paraglider with you and fly from Monte Lema back to the valley. The bottom station in Miglieglia is easily accessible by car (free parking) and by public transport.
Swiss Activities Tip
There are two official landing sites for paragliding flights from Monte Lema:
In Sessa (coordinates N 45°59'58.71" E 8°48'58.50"): It is particularly suitable for less experienced paraglider pilots.
In Miglieglia, next to the cable car valley station (coordinates N 46°01'35.17" E 8°51'36.45"9 : This is reserved for experienced paraglider pilots. Especially during persistent heat in spring, the landing area can be very demanding over midday.
Launch and landing sites are subject to change. Therefore, please always pay attention to any information boards that may be present and use information from local pilots.
