What it's about
DIVE INTO A SEA OF STARS Overnight under the night sky — with ice-hole drilling and ice bathing Imagine: you’re lying in your sleeping bag, the sky above you is black and clear, the air gently bites your face. No noise. No roof. Only stars, silence — and somewhere beneath you, a frozen lake waiting for you tomorrow morning. What sounds like a dream is a real experience. Staying consciously under the night sky — some call it star bathing — has a deep core: when you lie down outside, look at the sky and let your thoughts drift away, you return to what matters. No app, no plan, no distraction. That is exactly the spirit of this offer. And we go one step further: the next morning, we drill a hole in the ice — and plunge into the icy water. WHO IS THIS OFFER FOR? This offer is for cold enthusiasts and adventurers with real experience — people who already know ice-cold water, who have immersed themselves several times in cold or icy water and know what happens in their body and what it needs. If you are ready to spend a night outdoors in winter and embrace the unpredictable, you are in the right place. Maximum group size: 10 people. Small, personal, intense THE PROGRAM Arrival & snowshoe hike to Spilauersee The walk to the lake is already part of the experience. From the meeting point in Spilau, we hike together through the winter landscape to Spilauersee in the canton of Uri — with snowshoes, fresh air and the growing feeling: something special is happening here today. Setting up camp By the lakeshore, we set up our camp together — sleeping area, eating area, fire pit. No hotel, no comfort at the touch of a button. Instead, authenticity and the proud feeling of having looked after yourself. Evening programme: fire, food & silence Around the fire, we cook together — a warm soup, bread, hot tea. The evening belongs to calm: a guided night meditation with steady breathing, pausing, letting go. And at some point, when the fire gets smaller and the sky gets bigger, star bathing begins by itself. Overnight under the starry sky You sleep outside — in a sleeping bag, looking up. Depending on the date, either in the light of the full moon or in the deep darkness of the new moon. Both are experiences in their own right. If you want to bring a tent, you can — for the open sky you need a warm winter sleeping bag, an insulating mat and warm clothing for the night. Morning: breathing, meditation & drilling the ice hole The new day begins with breathing and a meditation — to wake up the body and focus the mind. Then comes the moment everyone has been waiting for: we drill the ice hole. With drill and saw, with care and concentration. If you drill a hole in the ice for the first time, you will never forget it. The ice bath & warming up The water is cold. Very cold. And that is exactly why this moment is so powerful. Well prepared and safely accompanied, you plunge in — fully aware of what you are doing. After the bath, targeted warming up with suitable movement exercises is just as important as the bath itself: the body is brought back actively, the warmth is ignited from within. Dismantling camp & return hike We leave nothing but footprints. Together we dismantle the camp and hike back to Spilau. What started as a personal experiment — enjoying the cold in mountain lakes, winter hikes in summer clothes, overnight stays in the open — is now his passion and his mission. As a certified cold specialist and founder of Kältenetzwerk, he connects cold with nature, health and mental balance. He knows Spilauersee, the ice and the night out there from personal experience. Beni leads the drilling of the ice hole, safety on the ice and the overall process on site. Martin Rohner — mental coach & certified cold coach Martin uses the element of water to find clarity and focus on what matters in the here and now. As a qualified mental coach, he brings together mental focus, breathing and cold into a coherent whole. He accompanies the group through the meditations — in the evening and in the morning — leads the warming-up exercises after the ice bath, looks after refreshments on site and, as a trained first aider, shares responsibility for the group’s safety. Chrigel — outdoor expert & wilderness guide Chrigel is the man when it comes to being outdoors. He knows the terrain, organises transport from the meeting point to the lake, sets up the fire pit and makes sure the camp is ready — before the first stars appear. His experience in the wilderness is the calm anchor the group can rely on. REGISTRATION & CONTACT [email protected] · +41 79 653 49 13 · www.kaeltenetzwerk.ch
