What is a Demeter mushroom farm?
A Demeter mushroom farm is an ecological mushroom production that follows the strict biodynamic Demeter guidelines. Mushrooms grow on a biological substrate made from beech wood sawdust, which is blended with grain and other natural ingredients and sterilised. The mushroom mycelium is then introduced in sterile rooms. The mushrooms are cultivated without chemical agents in controlled climate conditions. This method guarantees especially high-quality, fresh, and sustainable mushrooms with closed-loop cycles.
