Description
You travel on the Centovalli Railway from Domodossola to Locarno or vice versa. On this journey through the "100 valleys" you cross 83 bridges and viaducts.
The landscape along the way is largely untouched. In winter you will see snow-covered landscapes, in spring a number of waterfalls appear.

The train takes about 2:00 hours for this route.
Practical information:
- Suitable for wheelchairs, baby carriages and dogs
- During the Christmas markets and the Raduno degli Spazzacamini (International Chimney Sweep Meeting) in Santa Maria Maggiore, seat reservations are mandatory, even for individual travelers
Traveling with a wheelchair
- The Centovalli Railway offers transportation. Every train composition of the Ferrovia Vigezzina-Centovalli has a wheelchair space available.
Train carriages with steps: Boarding and alighting with a wheelchair is guaranteed by a lifting platform. This service is available at the stations of Domodossola, Santa Maria Maggiore and Locarno.
However, this must be booked 48 hours before the journey:

Traveling with your dog
- Small dogs up to 30 cm are free of charge if they remain in a transport container for the entire journey. This must be pushed under your seat.
- Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height require a valid dog ticket: half price of 2nd class
- Muzzles are compulsory in Italy or the dog must be transported in a suitable bag.

The landscape, the railway's route, and the old town of Domodossola are all amazing. However, in train operations, there’s often some improvisation. While it has its charm, there’s definitely room for improvement.
