Description
With the Fortezza Pass, you can explore the three castles of Bellinzona — Castel Grande, Montebello, and Sasso Corbaro — on your own. The Bellinzona fortress has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 2000 and is among the most significant cultural and historical monuments in Switzerland.
The pass grants you free access to the interiors, museums, and temporary exhibitions. Your visit also includes the outdoor areas, city walls, and towers.
Castel Grande is the largest of Bellinzona’s three castles. It rises in the heart of the old town on a hill that has been inhabited for over 6,000 years.
Montebello Castle sits on a higher hill overlooking the old town and Castel Grande, offering panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
Finally, Sasso Corbaro Castle, the most remote of the three, is built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley from above, notable for its compact fortress structure.
Practical Information
- To buy the Fortezza Pass, you need to select a visit date, but with the ticket, you can visit the fortress complex on several days until early November.
