Description
In avalanches, the correct behavior can save lives. Learn in this course the correct action and assessment in avalanche situations. This course takes place in the beautiful winter landscape of Zermatt. To participate in the course you should be confident on skis and be able to ski most of the slopes. Do not forget your ski pass!
The course contents range from situation assessment to the practical rehearsal of a rescue. Among other things, you will learn how to use an avalanche transceiver and be introduced to the 3x3 method. The course is conducted by a certified mountain guide with a lot of experience. At the end of the course all participants will receive the SWISS MOUNTAIN TRAINING WINTER 1 certificate.

- In group: min. 15 years old
- Avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe and airbag can be rented in Zermatt
Learning objectives
- Know your own equipment
- Understand the avalanche bulletin
- Know how to wear your own avalanche beacon and how it works
- Be aware of the main dangers in winter (avalanches, cold, weather dangers, loss of orientation, falls...)
- Be introduced to the 3x3 method
- Know the 4 typical avalanche situations and be able to answer the following question: "What is the main danger today?"
- Understand the general risk reduction measures ("Safer Six")
- Be able to perform a simple rescue
