Description

Take the underground funicular to Sunnegga, then transfer to the cable car to Blauherd. From there, you start the roughly 5-hour circular hike around the lakes Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee, and Leisee. Each mountain lake is unique in shape and colour. Leisee is a popular swimming spot.

You can see the Matterhorn reflected in three of the five lakes—assuming, of course, the mountain isn’t hidden by clouds and the water is calm. The stunning natural surroundings with towering peaks provide more great photo opportunities. In the afternoon, take the funicular back down to Zermatt.
