Manfred Lubowitz, better known as Manfred Mann, has shaped music history like almost no one else. Who doesn't know them? Hits such as « Blinded By The Light », « Davy´s On The Road Again », « Father of Day, Father of Night », « Mighty Quinn », « I came for you » are classics. More than 40 years ago, Manfred Mann founded his legendary Earth Band, with whom he was regularly in the charts in the 70s and early 80s. The Earth Band became famous then too for its sensational live concerts. Founding member in 1971 was also Mick Rogers, who still plays in the band. At the beginning of 1992, the band, which had split up in 1988, was revived by Manfred Mann. At first, alongside the London-based Manfred Mann, there were Noel McCalla (vocals), Mick Rogers (guitar, vocals), Steve Kinch (bass) and ex-Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker. Later, Chris Thompson (Earth Band member between 1976 and 1980) joined them. Chris Thompson left the Earth Band again in 1998, though. In 1997, a legendary double live album documented the class of this band. In 2004, Manfred Mann released his last studio album, titled « 2006 ». With this album too, Manfred Mann once again proved how creative and pioneering he is. Since 2011, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band has been touring with a new voice: Robert Hart (ex Bad Company).
