Rosengarten
Σχετικά με αυτόν τον χώρο
The Rosengarten is a real gem among the city’s public green spaces. Just a few steps from the old town, it invites you to enjoy peace and quiet. Originally part of the former villa garden of the Reinhart family, it was redesigned as the Rosengarten for Winterthur’s 700th anniversary in 1964. The two very old oaks that have grown into one another, together with the beeches, create a theatrical backdrop of trees, and the tea house built in 1911, with its retaining and seating walls, gives the rose garden a very special charm. For rose enthusiasts, there are also rare varieties to spot: the cherry-red repeat-flowering rose «Ulrich Brunner Fils», the world-famous «La France», bred in 1867, and numerous representatives of the Damask, Portland, Bourbon, Centifolia and moss roses.
