Steven Isserlis, Artistic Partner of Camerata Bern since 2022, is among the most charismatic cellists of our time. Coming from a world full of music, he brings the most charming anecdotes to life in his lively books. Such as the one about his grandfather, the pianist Julius Isserlis, who came from Russia to Vienna in the early 1920s with Steven’s father – and there was turned away by a 102-year-old landlady, just when he thought he had finally found a flat.
