The facility includes more than 30 office and sleeping rooms, a machine room, telephone exchange, kitchen and soldiers’ room, as well as further ancillary rooms. Together with many members of the last active brigade staff and other helpers, it has been possible to recreate the work of a brigade staff during the Cold War across the entire lower floor of the barracks and make it understandable and accessible for visitors. The Cold War itself is also the focus of the exhibition and is illuminated from various angles. Equipped troop accommodation, a library, an elaborate terrain model (the Americans’ crossing of the Rhine in the Second World War), various uniforms and, of course, the operational machine room round off the varied museum rooms. After the exciting tour, the soldiers’ room is available for an aperitif or even a full meal. The secretariat will be happy to provide further information.
