Organist Simon Menges creates a programme for organ and dance together with the two dancers Vénissia Pierru (FR) and Cigdem Groll (Winterthur). Programme Tanz-Toccata | Anton Heiller Mad Rush | Philip Glass Symphonic Dances from «West Side Story» | Leonard Bernstein «La Valse» | Maurice Ravel etc. The programme includes, among other pieces, Leonard Bernstein’s symphonic dances from his «West Side Story», Maurice Ravel’s «La Valse» and Philip Glass’s «Mad Rush». Simon Menges is widely known as a virtuoso concert organist. He has a special interest in arrangements of symphonic works for the organ. Vénissia Pierru and Cogdem Groll have shared a passion for dance since childhood. With sensitive interpretations, the two perform regularly as dancers. Their focus is on modern dance. Vénissia Pierru and Cigdem Groll also both work as dance educators.
