Senn saddlery is an ancient craft and an important part of senn life around the Alpstein. Braces, bull halters and Senntum straps are traditionally decorated with ornate leather embroidery and delicate chasing work. Workshops and craftspeople who still practise this special art have become rare. The masters of chasing and saddlery, Werner Huser and Fritz Ammann, give you a unique insight into their traditional craft in this course. On the first course day, the group chisels two little figures together with Werner Huser. On the second course day, these are then “nailed” onto the belt you have prepared yourself, together with other already prefabricated figures, under the guidance of Fritz Ammann. Course leaders: Fritz Ammann, Werner Huser Prerequisite: craft skills are not required, but are an advantage. What to bring: participants are asked to bring work clothes.
