"Humanity in the Unfathomable"
O tym miejscu
The Elsbeth Kasser collection includes over one hundred watercolours and drawings created by Jewish artists during the Second World War in the French internment camp of Gurs. The images bear witness to the inhumane conditions in the camp and the horror of everyday life. The Swiss woman Elsbeth Kasser helped in this camp with great civic courage. She showed acts of humanity in this dreadful place. The exhibition and numerous accompanying events aim to contribute to dialogue about antisemitism and discrimination then and now.
