Jaun Waterfall

In 1928, the water from a spring in a stream 15 kilometres away in the "Les Morteys" valley was coloured; it gradually seeps into the ground. Eleven days after the colouring, the coloured water unexpectedly appeared at the Jaun Waterfall via an underground inflow. The mystery of the water’s origin was thus solved. The waterfall stands directly opposite the compact village centre of Jaun, with its splendid wooden houses, and then flows into the Jaunbach. For anyone who is not afraid of the roar: on walkways, you can almost go right into the waterfall and feel the droplets in the air. In the evening, the place is even more enchanting: the waterfall is lit up and, on a winter’s night, the magic of the place feels even more tangible. Why a place of power? The waterfall and the area around the Old Church lie within a field of energy of particular magnitude. You feel it best when you stand in front of the waterfall and breathe in the liquid, crystalline "light" deeply and slowly.
