The boundaries between simulation and reality are blurring more and more, and virtual play is becoming increasingly popular in football too. To shed light on the global cultural phenomenon of digital football games in the past, present and future through their technology, competitions and the lifestyle around them, the FIFA Museum presents the exhibition area “The Virtual Pitch” as part of the permanent exhibition. Different interactive stations invite you to discover and understand the world of eFootball. In special gaming pods, built in the style of the originals used at the FIFA eWorld Cup™, you can test your skills on the console and experience historical versions of this video game series alongside the current FIFA game. Animations show how the graphics of the stars’ likenesses have evolved. At a selfie station, you can pose in a virtual world and, thanks to virtual reality, be taken on a journey from the living room to the stage of the FIFA eWorld Cup™. And of course the FIFA eWorld Cup™ trophy is also on display in the exhibition.
