Fantastic Flying Objects. Hans Küchler and relatives

On the occasion of the processing of the estate of the graphic artist Hans « Kü » Küchler (1929–2001) at and by the Kunstmuseum Olten, the Hans Erni Museum, in cooperation with the Olten sister institution and the Verkehrshaus der Schweiz, presents under the title « Phantastische Flugobjekte. Hans Küchler und Verwandte » an exhibition of the artist’s drawings of flying machines and aircraft. In the exhibition, this inventive body of work is set alongside objects from the Verkehrshaus collection on imaginary flight as well as works by contemporary artists such as Jürg Benninger (* 1966), Peter Chevalier (* 1953), Hans Erni (1909-2015), Valerie Favre (* 1959), Franz Fedier (1922-2005), David Fuhrer (* 1974)., Reto and Markus Huber, Huber.Huber (* 1975), Rosa Lachenmeier (* 1959), Wilhelm Morat (* 1954), Camilo Salvador Díaz de Villalvilla Soto (* 1976), Ursula Sax (* 1935), Roman Signer (* 1938), Daniella Tuzzi (* 1964), Peter Wüthrich (* 1962) and Robert Wyss (1925 – 2004), who imaginatively break free from gravity and also give wings to the imagination of viewers. This creates a panorama of a central aspect of European art, which also interested Hans Erni in particular, both as an artist and as a hobby pilot, in theory and in practice. The exhibition is accompanied by a brochure and a varied events programme.
