Linther are stories that get under your skin. After two and a half years of intense work, countless hours in the studio and the search for the perfect sound, Linther now celebrates the launch of their debut album at the Fabriktheater Schwanden. The heart and soul of Linther is Markus Stadelmann – singer, musician and storyteller. Whether singing or telling stories: with his warm, compelling voice, Stadelmann opens up whole worlds. His words carry, move and linger. That is the case in the piece “Dr Geisser”, in which he sets the Glarus legend of the Oberblegisee to music in a way that gives you goosebumps – or in the soothing recitative “Diin Wäg”, which hovers between comfort and new departure. And when nature in thoughtful works such as “Ds letschtä Blatt” or “Dr Glärnisch” stands as a synonym for our existence, you feel the power and delicacy of this unique musical universe. Linther is more than a band. It is a collective of experienced Swiss musicians around Markus Stadelmann, building a bridge between the Glarus Alps and the wider world in a distinctive style of rhythms, sounds and lyrics. The sound is honest, handmade, deeply rooted and yet open to the world. Like the river that gave the band its name, Linther flows out of Glarnerland, carried by the force of the Linth, by the passion of its creator and by stories that only life itself can write.
