Tentang lokasi ini

In Rofflaschlucht, in the Beverin Nature Park between Andeer and Splügen, you can get especially close to the roar of a waterfall. This is thanks to the emigrant to America Christan Pitschen-Melchior, who, after returning in 1907, began to cut a path into the gorge – modelled on Niagara Falls. With painstaking manual work, he chiselled and blasted the gallery into the hard rock, and it remains practically unchanged to this day. It was only completed seven years and 8000 blasts later. Today, a narrow path leads from the historic inn along the rock gallery towards Rofflaschlucht. Right at the back, the rock gallery goes behind the waterfall and thus under the Rhine. At the entrance to Rofflaschlucht there is the historic inn with a restaurant and a small museum, which documents the exciting history of how the rock gallery came to be. Getting there: From Thusis, take the bus towards Ander Rofflaschlucht, changing at Andeer Posta. By car via the A13/E43, exit Avers-Rofla.
