Tentang tempat ini

Lun Tuchnowski (1946–2018) is one of the artists who, over the course of their career, brought together two key 20th-century sculptural approaches: geometrically oriented forms and figurative elements. His work strikingly preserves a fragile balance between calm and dynamism, strength and elegance. The sculptor, who lived for many years in Munich and ran his studio there, worked with a wide range of materials – from aluminium and bronze to wood, plastic and plaster. His artistic development is closely linked to the important Danish iron sculptor Robert Jacobsen (1912–1993), whose master student, assistant and friend he was. In the late 1980s, he accompanied Jacobsen’s sculptural design of the forecourt at Museum Würth in Künzelsau. Since then, Tuchnowski has enriched the range of contemporary sculpture at Würth with his own works and, as adviser and exhibition architect, shaped the visual appearance of the collection in Switzerland and abroad. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, Forum Würth Rorschach honours this artist, who, like almost no other, was closely associated with the Würth Collection for many years. The exhibition “Lun Tuchnowski & Friends” is dedicated to the artist’s central creative phases and places selected elective affinities and companions alongside his works.
