Course announcement Experience Tschiertschen with your camera on 5 and 6 September 2026. The workshop is suitable for photography beginners and advanced participants alike. In the sunny mountain village of Tschiertschen, you do not only find far-reaching views of the surrounding mountain panorama. The photography workshop focuses on the village itself, calm yet lively. Participants explore the village through the camera. Whatever the camera; digital or analogue, compact, SLR or smartphone – the photographer makes the picture. What they all have in common is mindful, deliberate photography. In an unhurried mountain setting, the workshop helps you sharpen your photographic eye. The experience of a space-filling Camera Obscura and the opportunity to photograph with a self-built pinhole camera create a deeper understanding of how photography works and make the magic of early photography tangible. The workshop includes guidance on image composition and photographic technique and offers the chance to take individual participants’ needs into account. Tschiertschen, a wonderful mountain village, surprises with sun-browned wooden houses. They line the lanes of the village centre. The landscape surrounding the village is shaped by agriculture and gentle tourism. Within the local village setting, artworks from the open-air art exhibition «BEAUX LOSANGES BÜEL» are mixed in and enter into dialogue with the place. This creates unique in-between spaces that invite photographic exploration to tell new stories. Where possible and depending on participants’ willingness, the workshop results in a postcard series showing Tschiertschen in a new light and from unusual perspectives.
