“I mustn’t fly any more! – I must give up my car! – And I mustn’t eat meat any more either!” That should not be everything that comes to mind when we want to protect the climate by reducing CO2 emissions. At ETH Zürich, we are researching technologies that will still allow us to fly, drive cars and eat meat in the future. Unlike today, however, the aircraft will fly on sustainable fuels made from solar energy; cars will run on renewable energies and meat will grow in the laboratory.
