“You are my dearest treasure!” – Love letters through time
Sobre este lugar
A love letter is more than paper and ink. It carries hope and longing – and a quiet request for a reply. It reflects personal feelings as well as social ideas about love, marriage and partnership. The exhibition traces the written language of love, from its early literary forms through the 19th century to the digital messages of today. A moving letter from 1844, tender postcard exchanges, artfully crafted love messages and literary testimony show how people stayed connected across distances. With every line, you can see how language, expression and ways of sending change – yet always serve the same aim: to create closeness. What remains is the courage to put love into words.
