Here you’ll find Lac de Châteaupré as a mountain lake in the Val de Moiry, a side valley of the Val d’Anniviers in the canton of Valais. It lies at 2352 m above sea level in the area of the municipality of Anniviers. The lake lies in the glacier forefield of the Moiry Glacier and is fed by its meltwater as well as by the Gougra. To the west, the Gougra flows away again and reaches Lac de Moiry after 1.2 kilometres. A path leads to a peninsula in the lake, and hiking trails branch off in all directions.
