A huge black dog with a glowing eye in the middle of its forehead and a bunch of keys around its neck. The tale of the Valeishund has unsettled the Sarganserland for centuries. And it does not fall silent. Museum Sarganserland follows the trail. In a special exhibition with exhibits, eyewitness accounts, an audio contribution that places the background in its historical context, and an artistic short film, you can explore the origin and the secret of this eerie figure. What lies behind the apparition? Special highlight: the 1459 arbitration award is on display – and with it the historical core of the tale. Many thanks to the Ortsgemeinde Wangs, which is showing this important document to the public for the first time. The exhibition can be visited at the museum until 31 October (normal museum admission).
