About this place

In this stately estate, now the Richard Wagner Museum in Tribschen on the Vierwaldstättersee, Richard Wagner lived from 1866 to 1872 with his second wife Cosima and his children. On the ground floor of the former residence, you can now view a collection about Richard Wagner and his time in the house at Tribschen. It was not until 1931 that the city of Luzern acquired the country house with the 30'000 m2 park to open it to the public. By the lakeshore at the museum, you will now find one of Luzern’s most scenic children’s playgrounds. Numerous benches also invite you to stay awhile and relax.
