About this place

In the oldest house still preserved in its original state, dating from 1302, and right in the pedestrian zone of the beautiful town of Stein am Rhein, KrippenWelt is at home. The name KrippenWelt already shows that the museum does not only display nativity scenes from all over the world – around 400 to 500, from nearly 100 countries – but also wants to draw attention to the world behind the nativity scenes on show. This «world» becomes visible, experienced and understood above all during guided tours of the museum.
