About this place

In the village of Teufen, where the church built by Hans Ulrich Grubenmann stands, the new Grubenmann Museum is located in the former Zeughaus. The museum shows the history and works of this important family of builders in the 18th century. The builders of long-span wooden bridges, many churches and stately houses were known far beyond the cantonal borders. In particular, the Rhine bridge in Schaffhausen and the Limmat bridge near Wettingen Monastery attract many specialists and admirers. The fascinating exhibition presents models of bridges and roof trusses, an audio-visual show and a large selection of old tools for woodworking.
