About this place

Recorded in 1270 as the seat of the lords of Rüdberg, pledged in 1272 to the counts of Werdenberg, in 1340 to the counts of Toggenburg, bought back in 1468 by St Gallen Abbey and abandoned. Excavation and conservation in 1949-54. (Source: Burgenverein.ch)
