Built by Knight Ludwig v. Wynegg 1254-1257, in 1270 a bishop’s fief in the hands of the barons v. Vaz, in 1338 inherited by Friedrich v. Toggenburg, mentioned as a ruin in 1548, around 1600 Andreas v. Salis built a new structure, abandoned at the end of the 18th century. (Source: Burgenverein.ch)
