Stadtmuseum Brugg – Stäblisaal und Historische Sammlung
About this place
The Stadtmuseum Brugg – Stäblisaal und Historische Sammlung is located in the armoury built in 1673. On the ground floor, a timeline gives a compact overview of the town’s history. On the first floor, you can see the largest public collection of paintings by landscape painter Adolf Stäbli (1842–1901). It grew out of a bequest from his sister Adèle. On the second upper floor, the historical collection is organised by theme and shows a selection of Brugg treasures: from the skittles from the Brugg restaurant Strössler to a bedside table from the internationally known Brugg furniture manufactory Simmen.
