In the medieval Schloss Arbon with its defensive tower, you will find the largest local and regional history museum in Thurgau. The modern permanent exhibition takes you on an exciting journey through 5‘500 years of settlement history on Lake Constance. The many original finds, documents, scale models, pictures and photos are here and there supplemented with a playful nod to comparable objects from our own time. Different sections show everyday life and society in times gone by, water supply, church and castle history, local weapons and the climate’s caprices on the lake, all in the imposing tower. The climb up to the tower room is rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view. Changing special exhibitions make every museum visit a new experience.
