Prayer for Peace

About this place

In February 2022, war broke out in Ukraine. Many initiatives were launched to help people in need affected by it. In Samedan, a collection point was set up for the whole of Oberengadin, and a daily midday prayer for peace was also organised in the Reformed church. Many believed then that the war in Ukraine would end quickly. Unfortunately, war still continues in Ukraine. The collection point no longer operates; gifts and donations are centralised elsewhere. But the midday prayer has remained. At 12:00, people meet every day and pray for peace in Ukraine, Israel and throughout the world. We pray for people who ask us to, or who, despite all adversity, work for peace. The midday prayer is an opportunity, once a week from Monday to Friday, to pause for reflection, silence and meditation: time for prayer and contemplation of God's word. There is also the chance to talk with the pastor before or after the prayer. The doors of our church are always wide open for that.
